3 months old...

and growing so fast....

It seems like yesterday he made his grand entrance into the world. How he has changed...! Hoping to see him and his mommy and daddy real soon....I miss them bunches...!

I love it when his mommy calls and says someone wants to talk to you and I hear his tiny little voice in the background....he loves laughing out loud. Can't wait till they move closer to home.

I got to see my sweet baby tonight on the web cam...how exciting...!

It's been forever...!

Where do I begin..
Cee and Cannin came in from Ohio for a short visit which turned into a longer stay than planned, and we loved every minute of it. When it came time for them to leave, I was able to go back with them and spend all of my spring break.
What a joy to have my grandson stay with us. Needless to say....we were all sleep deprived. That boy just will not sleep and when he does sleep, it is only for a short power nap.
He was two months old on Sunday and had to go get his shots today. Poor baby, so far he is doing ok...a little cranky and slight fever, but nothing out of the ordinary. At his 2 months appt he weighted in at 11 lbs 4 ozs. He is a growing boy..! He is so precious...he gives the cutest little smile now when you talk to him and just coo's like he is carrying on a conversation. He has his mommy and daddy figured out...he knows that all he has to do is whimper and they are "johnny on the spot" to pick him up. So, needless to say...he loves to be held. Of course he had me fooled to...of course I picked him up, before he could ever get the whimper out...! He is such a snuggler and cuddler and I love snuggling and cuddling with him. We are truly blessed...! (Can I get an Amen).

My dad had to have a triple bypass. I am happy to report that all is well and he is home healing nicely. I hated see him hooked up to all those machines and a machine breathing for him. It takes a lot to get him down and he looked so helpless laying there. My brother, Pam and Cristina came in from Colorado, it was so nice to see them, but hated the circumstance.

We also had a chance to visit with my Aunt Pat. She is home from the hospital and doing great and getting stronger everyday.

Now Cee and Cannin have gone home and I am back from Ohio....spring break is over and I have to get back to reality....dang it..So I will have to get out and make the best of it...!

I am making a trip to Toys R Us...thinking Cannin needs a new toy from his Grammie and Grumpies...! and for a very special little girl....Sophie..she will be one on Valentine's Day...what a sweet girl....how time flies.

We went to the hospital to see my cousin's new grandbaby...Lauren....cute as a button....! of course...!
Congratulations to James and Scarlet....and to the grandparents...Michele and Stoney...! Don't spoil her to much..! Welcome to the family...Lauren Michele...!

No news on my Aunt Pat other than she is getting somewhat better each day. Keep her in your prayer!

Good News...!

My cousin Michele just called with some great news...They are on the way to the hospital to meet their new granddaughter....Lauren...
They start the induction tonight and if they are lucky....she will be here in no time...if not...they are in for a long night...Pray for a quick labor and delivery....
she was so excited...I wish them all the luck..there is no other feeling...

She updated me on my Aunt Pat, her mother. She had a few bad days this last weekend,,but things seem to be looking better. Praying for your speedy recovery Aunt Pat...Love you

I am so excited....I went to Wal-Mart and stocked up on baby stuff for Cannin so that Cee doesn't have to pack all that stuff. Of course I had to pick up a few extra things for him also...I got him the cutest mirror that hangs on the seat so that you can see the baby and they can see themselves....well this one has a remote that makes it light up and/or play music....they didn't have this neat stuff when my kids were babies...then at Bealls I found the cutest pair of shoes for him....then I found me two pair....I have to stop buying shoes !!

Counting Down the Days...

It seems like time is standing still.....!!!



This time next week Cee and Cannin will be home....!

Can you guess what I will be doing...? I will be spoiling that baby rotten...!


I can't wait to show him off to all my family (only those I like) that hasn't seen him yet and to all my friends at work.... it is flu season so we will have to be very careful and not let him come in contact with any of those sick kids and germs at work...



I plan on taking a couple days off to spend time with them and my sister....Girls day..shopping..!

We are also planning a day to Canton....don't know if Cannin is up to a shopping day in Canton...so we will be leaving him home with Grumpy's. That should make for a interesting day....! Canny loves him Grumpy's....!



To Angie....I hope your heart heals soon. Cherish your memories...

talked to his momma today...he is eating good...she said he is becoming a little piggy,,,but has decided he wants to stay up at night....only the beginning of many sleepless night.

Here's a shout out to one of my high school friends....Angie and her family....So sorry to hear about your lose. I know its hard and you have a lot of unanswered questions. You and your family are forever in our prayers.

Another shout out to my cousin...Michelle and her family..her mom and dad was on vacation in Florida and her mom ended up in the hospital in ICU. She is very sick and in critical condition. Pray she has no set back for 24 hours or so and her chances of recovery increase greatly. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her. You and your family are forever in our prayers..Get well soon Aunt Pat. We Love You...Be strong Uncle Jimmy..,We Love You too...

Made it....this last week was one I never want to re-live....WOW...

I am doing a little house work before I head of to Canton....What shall I buy Cannin...? You know Valentines is coming up soon...!

Poor Cannin had the colic last night and I know his mommy and daddy are worn out....Wish I was there to help..! Sending them some happy vibes...Get your rest mommy and daddy...!

I am thinking I need a road trip to go see them....heart is aching to hold-kiss-cuddle that baby....! Don't let him forget his Grammie and Grumpys...

Just another day..!

We have almost made it through the week....what a long week it has been...!

Talked to Cee and baby Cannin is doing great....growing like a weed. He is two weeks old today...

They have gotten a lot of snow up there in Ohio, so they have pretty much shut everything down, therefore, Dustin is home. Every time I talk to Cee, he is holding Cannin or he is asleep holding Cannin. He is spoiling that baby rotten. Now at night when they go to bed, he thinks he has to be held.....!

I say hold that baby....he is only little once...they grow up before you know it...!

Missing all that sweetness...

Well, I made it back to reality. I had to get back in the grove of things. It was hard...I was tired.
Today was better...my eyes didn't hurt as bad.

I had the worst flight home I have ever had. My heart was aching and there was nothing I could do about it. I needed some more of Cannin's sweet baby sugar. Just one more kiss...one more snuggle...and a little more cuddling. I could sit and rock that sweet baby all day long.

Talked to Cee today...they are getting alot of snow and its really cold. Cannin decides he was staying up half the night. She said he finally went to sleep around 2:30 am. Hope he doesn't get his days and nights mixed up. Dustin came home early today b/c of the snow, so she was able to sneek in a nap and when she got up it was their turn to nap. Cannin loves to sleep on his daddy's chest...spoiled..!

Leaving

Today is the day I have been dreading....I have to go back home to Texas and leave the kids and my new grand baby. I have had the time of my life....I loved the midnight feedings, the rocking, cuddling and snuggling. I so miss it already. It breaks my heart to be so far away from him. Thank goodness for modern technology. We have a Web cam...I will be able to see him every night and that is better than nothing. Here's to cyber "Hugs and Kisses."

Yesterday we took Cannin and had his portraits made...OMG...way to cute....they did a great job.
Grammie and Grumpy went broke...! If you want to see them, e-mail me and I will send you the website and password. They are a must see...!

Today Cannin is 1 week and 3 days and growing like a weed. He takes almost a 3 oz bottle but still throwing up like every other bottle. The colic is getting better....I think a lot of it is that he likes to be held by his Grammie!!

Dustin has a two week training next month in Feb, so we are hoping Cee and Cannin can home then..that baby is going to be so rotten, he stinks!

Fun Day

Today was a great day.....!!

Cee and Dustin went to town today for some grown ppl time and I was the lucky one to stay behind with Cannin. I gave him his morning bath, rubbed him down in some baby magic lotion and fed him his bottle. There is nothing that smells any better than a "Baby Magic Baby" After his bottle, we just rocked and rocked. Luving every minute of it....

Blood Work

Cannin had to go in today for his third round of blood work. Happy to report his levels are good...little high but ok..He is a little on the yellow side....but cute as ever. His next appt is in two weeks. This poor baby has been poked on so much and what a trooper..he just barely cries.

Last night was the first night that he slept any....he has had such a belly ache that lasted for ever. I think they have found the magic formula. No more spitting up or gas. He is now up to a 2 oz bottle...that is if they can keep him awake. He gained a half ounce since last Sunday. He now weighs in at a whopping 6 lb 15 ozs. The doctors want to increase his fluids to help the jaundice break down.

We went yesterday and bought him some new preemie clothes....some that fit...and if you could see his closet, he doesn't need any more but those are way to big. "Grow Baby Grow"

Truly Blessed

There is no other feeling....! No words to describe....! I am proud to announce that I am now officially Grammie. Cannin Blake was born Jan. 15, 2009 at 6:18 am. He weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz and was 19.9 inches long.

It was a long and hard labor for Cee, but she was a trooper. Dustin did an awesome job being her coach, he was her rock.

Cannin was great....few concerns b/c they had to use the suction. After checking him over, he got a clean bell of health. The only concern now is that he is a little jaundice and has a bruise on his little head, with time that will go away. He had to go get his blood checked today and has to go back on Tuesday. Can't stand the thought of them poking that baby. He also is having a hard time with his formula. He is on his third kind and hoping he can hold it down. At his check today, he weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz.

I am lucky enough to get to spend some time with them at home and watch them grow as a family. It will be hard to leave.

I love to just sit at this little guy...he has stolen my heart...!

Today was my cousin's daughter-in-laws shower...sorry I couldn't be there. Her baby is due at the end of Feb, three weeks after Cannin's orginal date. Here's to wonderful shower, Scarlet. Hope you get alot of goodies. Can't wait to meet Lauren.

Busy Day

Our morning started out early this morning at 4. We caught out flight out of Dallas to St. Louis only for our flight to Columbus to be cancelled. So we ended up in Chicago...man is it cold there....11 degress and lots of snow. Anyway we made it to Ohio to spend the evening with Cee and Dustin before she goes to the hospital. We go and have a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse...it was good, but my nerves wouldn't allow me to eat....Cee didn't eat much either...I know her nerves were working on her....she was some kind of jittery....

Well, the time comes for us to go to the hospital...she was a nervous wreck..she didn't know weather to laugh or cry...! We make it up to the L & D floor...not before she had to stop and pee....for the hundreth time...! They got her all prep and ready to go....hooked her up to the moniters and she was having contractions....we are hoping they carry on thru the night so she won't have all that ahead of her tomorrow. It is so hard to sit there and watch them pick, prod and poke on my baby girl....Enough already...! Tomorrow will be a long day....more details later.

So I am going to get off here now and try to get some rest....I have to get up early to get to the hosptial....for tomorrow I met my new grandson....Cannin Blake

Packing

I am sitting here on this computer when I should be up doing something..like packing my bags for Ohio. I thought this time would never get here and as the time grows closer the faster my heart beats. You see, Cee goes in tomorrow night so early Wednesday morning they will start her induction. So sometime Wednesday evening, I will be holding my new grandson and spoiling him rotten.
He is 3 weeks early, but the doc says, he is ready... We are praying for a healthy and happy baby boy.

To Dustin and Cee....We love you very much...best of luck with your new baby boy.

I am keeping it short tonight cause I have so much to do....with so little time. We have to be up and gone by 4 to catch our flight.

Another Day

Today is a very busy day for me. I have lots of running around to do..
Laundry to finish so I can pack for our trip on Tuesday....weather permittng....they are getting lots of snow..They better get out the snow plows cause we are coming thru!
I have to do some shopping....We need FOOD in the worst way....my mom's birthday is Monday so I have to get something special for her Happy Day...and my cousin is expecting her first grandbaby in Feb. I won't be here for the shower(sorry guys) so I have to get the baby (Lauren)....It's a Girl"... something special. Then I would like to have some ME time and get my nails done. We will see....!

Talked to Cee last night and this morning....they are good...baby is kicking, jumping and flipping and making her totally miserable....! Good job Cannin....! Show them who is boss...! It won't be long now till we are holding him and SPOILING him totally rotten. Come on Jan. 14 Pray for a healthy baby...!

Bragging

We are on the count down to the birth of our first grandbaby. It's a boy and his name is going to be Cannin Blake and he is due Feb 3. The only drawback that I have is that we live in Texas and he lives in Ohio with his mommy and daddy. Which by the way...I think are going to be awesome parents. Those miles are going to add up fast..maybe one day I will get a free trip out of it.

When we first found out, we were so excited. All Cee could do was cry, she couldn't even talk. Then when we found out it was a boy...I bought everything I got my hands on. This kid is going to want for nothing....can we say SPOILED..!

They had two wonderful showers and got lots of goodies....Thanks to all...

I have been lucky enough to be in Ohio during a couple of her dr appts and sonograms. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear his little heart beat or see him on the moniter. Seeing/hearing him made it so real. He has stolen my heart!!! While I was there we were able to work on the nursey and do more shopping..! The nursery is done in Sailboats and way to cute.(will post pixs later). Good job Cee and Dustin...!

She calls me everynight and fills me in on how he/they are doing. A kick here..a jab there...with a couple of flip-flops thrown in. While on the phone one night, I got to listen to his daddy read him a story, which he does every night. His daddy calls him his little buddy and can't wait for his son to arrive.

She has good days and bad...lots of sickness. Due to some complications they have decided to take the baby early. His due date is now Jan. 14 and we can't wait to see him.
